Experimental Chicago house music on Hieroglyphic Being's eccentric Mathematics label. Borrowing elements from the more forward-thinking producers, such as Armando, Lil Louis and Steve Poindexter, Basic Soul Unit have created this authentic pastiche that pays tribute to those pioneers. 'Lotus Roots EP' doesn't have immediate dancefloor appeal, but nonetheless, an intriguing angle on the genre.
