Simulcast is a companion piece to Tycho’s 2019 LP Weather. Whereas that record saw the group combining with singer Saint Sinner on several tracks, Simulcast reworks the Weather numbers as vocal-free pieces. However, this is not merely an album of instrumental Weather mixes, with Scott Hansen and his band using the ideas of that album to construct typically tender tunes here. Bringing together electronics, bedroom pop and downtempo, Simulcast invokes the likes of Bonobo and Flume.
