Ritmo Elegante is a typically adventurous set from Marco Shuttle. There’s a touch of Galaxian to Ritmo Elegante’s title-track and ‘Stairway To The Milky Way’, what with their abstracted jungle sounds and snaking, quixotic synth lines. ‘Arpex’s limber 303 bassline and sturdy thuds from the kick drum make it Ritmo Elegante’s most dancefloor-friendly joint, though the off-kilter dub-techno of closer ‘Qatarsi’ pushes ‘Arpex’ hard on this count. Delightfully unusual listening.
