The Rex And Shuffle EP finds 214 back on Klakson and doing what they do best - and what they do best is making gnarly electro-funk in the vein of Drexciya. Each of these four tracks clatter along with the sort of precision-engineered grooves that would have made James Stinson (RIP) and Gerald Donald proud, their hissing hi-hats and needle-gun basslines turning the tracks technoid. Only on closer ‘Lost Shovel’ do 214 allow their sound to soften up somewhat.
