Philadelphian Dj and producer Dev 79 comes with a kind of US answer back to dubstep with this, the third of his street bass anthems cds.

The tracks here mix the various regional styles of hip hop party music, crunk, ghettotech, Hyphy and bounce with a take on uk bass music styles like dubstep and bassline house to give tracks mental basslines and dread weight they wouldn't have in their original forms. It makes sense geographically, whilst dubstep and grime have far more Caribbean and African influences, a US take on it should logically have regional hip hop influences.

Anyway enough ruminations, it's great stuff, filthy and quite lo-fi at times but with an energy and innovation that could only have come from this particular blend
