Brussels has spawned a handful of ground-breaking musicians working in and around Jazz, Marc Moulin of hip hoppers favorite Placebo and later a player in electronic Belgian pop pioneers Telex came from there as did the subject of this cd - Arsene Souffriau.

The music on this cd is simple but brave in concept, it takes the concept of free jazz and applies it to electronics, so this compilation of releases is a mixture of breaks, jazz and heavy funk with madcap moog and electroacoustic, concrete electronics.
Less conceptual and more 'way out' than Jean Jaques Perry or Dick Hyman, the synth is played in a wild 'free' manner creating all kinds of strange psychedelic clusters and clouds, stretched vocals and general electronic madness of a kind you'd be a fool to miss, especially as Vampi have gone to the trouble to pull this one out of vinyl only collectors hell and expose it to the likes of us humble music lovers.
