Back in 2018 the ceramicist Edmund de Waal asked Simon Fisher Turner to create music for an installation that de Waal was doing at California’s Schindler House. A Quiet Corner In Time is the result of the two refining Turner’s original music for a standalone release. This is a record of eerie, abstracted electroacoustic composition that veers between strange, abstract rattlings and pensive drones reminiscent of Abul Mogard. The most obtuse corners of Electric Indigo’s catalogue also come to mind, as do Karlheinz Stockhausen and Bernard Parmegiani.
