Having turned heads with previous releases - both solo and alongside Deapmash as part of AQXDM - Aquarian now delivers a debut LP for Bedouin Records. The Snake That Eats Itself is a record which revels in darkness. A torrid and mournful listen, the album sees Aquarian sucking industrial synth music, deconstructed club, breakcore, drone, hard techno and cyberpunk electronics into the black hole of his sound. Squarepusher’s brooding 2015 LP Damogen Furies provides one point of comparison, particularly on the wilder beat tracks (‘Tarp2’, ‘365 Days And Counting’). The agonised The Snake That Eats Itself also shares space with Arca, Belief Defect, Silent Servant and Ziur.
