Seven years on from its initial 2013 release and The Cult Of Dom Keller’s eponymous debut LP remains a high water-mark in British heavy psychedelia. This album blasts through the contemporaneous sound of Goat and Ty Segall look to achieve something much heavier, its loping grooves fuzzed to the point where they start to turn into the kind of unbroken drones one hears in Gnod, Sunn O))) and My Bloody Valentine. It's worth noting that, no matter how heavy these riffers get, The Cult Of Dom Keller also manage to poke melodies through the mix in a manner which recalls all of the above. Having immediately sold out on first release The Cult Of Dom Keller now gets a reissue through Mannequin Records - a pleasantly unexpected move for a label otherwise associated with more electronic- and club-based styles.
