GLOK - Dissident LP

Second outing for Bytes this time from Andy Bell of Ride fame under his electronic alias GLOK. Recently remastered by Keith Tenniswood at his studio in Hastings to stunning effect. Fusing synth wave and detroit techno via a love of John Carpenter soundtracks with dissonant atmospherics and an acid throb familiar with Radioactive Man’s productions. Closing track Exit Through The Skylight takes in Skee Mask on happy pills with added guitar lines. Exceptional.

Exclusive EP - free EP from Franz Kirmann. The Yoff EP is available exclusively via Bleep.

Yoff EP is a bonus release featuring alternative versions of tracks from the French producer Franz Kirmann's hauntingly beautiful fourth album Madrapour, which was released on Bytes in October, along with two brand new tracks exclusive to this release.

'Yoff' and 'Salem Sound System' are psychedelic reworkings of the album's aforementioned opening tracks. The heavy tribal drums and discordant melodies makes it the perfect soundtrack for a fucked-up ayahuasca experience in a remote jungle location. On the previously unreleased live jam 'Persona', minimal, jerky drums underpin textured, cinematic synths, while 'Duster' is the perfect coda to Madrapour, a short but sweet blast of the reverb-drenched, fuzzy melodies that typified the project.

As it's nearly Christmas, Franz has kindly agreed that we can credit the EP with these T-shirts to thank you for all your support for Bytes in the first year of existence.
