On new LP Dwell we find Recondite further refining his melodious take on electronic and club music. As is always the case with Recondite records Dwell is full of carefully-constructed compositions which flit between German-school minimal techno and several adjacent styles. The likes of Apparat and Pantha Du Prince are recalled on cuts like ‘Black Letter’ and ‘Mirror Games’ while there is the fidgety energy of classic IDM to ‘Interlude 1’ and ‘Nobilia’. At points we also see Recondite returning to the more pensive ambient sound which characterized much of his previous LP Daemmerlicht - see the elegiac ‘Moon Pearl’ on this count.
