Pieced together amid the trials and tribulations surmounted within the first few months of a major relocation across the North Atlantic — Canada to Berlin, Germany — metropolitan producer Flørist’s debut EP finds the perfect fit on The Trilogy Tapes. On all accounts, his relocation to the clubs of the metropole proves entirely apt. 4 Letter Word is soaked in low-key experimentalism — the sub-nautical flit of its title track, the fractured deep house of ‘Sail’ — always masterfully tempered by an iron-cast gaze towards the funk-damentals, appeasing the feet and the head without skipping a beat.
