DMX Krew switches it up slightly on his new EP Modern Body. Sure, this record is another set of superb modern machine-funk jacks from one of the best in the business in that regard, its quartet of tunes channelling Don't Recordings and Unit Moebius’ Bunker with malevolent glee. However, we are also detecting some influences here that we haven't spotted on many other DMX Krew releases. There is a sense of cyberpunk dystopia to ‘Zone Dance’ and ‘Arcturus VII’ which gives off a whiff of Drexciya, and if you squint ‘Astro Wandering’ has a bit of a new beat/coldwave thing going on.
