This new album from Om follows up last year's amazing variations on a theme, in our opinions one of the best albums of that year, a world of atmosphere and intense almost trance-like rock, built on the incredible bass playing and guitar work of Chris Hakius and Al Cisneros who were in the band Sleep.

The sound of Om is grown up and paired down and on this album, their third recorded for Southern Lord by Steve Albini, their sound gets deeper, from the Spanish guitar stylings and whispered vocals of 'Pilgrimage', to the deep dusty intense riffing of 'Bhima's Theme' and the lovely spooky Spiritualism of 'Untive Knowledge of the Godhead', this is a great alb um. Albini smooths off some of the rougher edges and creates a sound that has a dusty 'Tibetan Temple' feel to it, bringing out some of the lighter more Ethereal textures of the music that the previous albums left out.
