Bleep

The third release on SC-164’s label of the same name is another prime wedge of dark, nasty electro from the one born Greg Schappert. CH-003 delivers a quartet of bleeping club takes that all stutter and jerk with malevolent energy. Genre pioneers Drexciya are invoked, as are more modern practitioners like Jensen Interceptor, but one can also detect influences from both EBM and industrial techno in the way synths and drums snap at your heels. The more out-there numbers on CH-003 - its second track, for instance - are expansive and futuristic in a manner that reminds us of Galaxian’s recent output.
