As part of Athens Of The North’s three-part lovers rock remaster n’ reissue project, the label dig into something quite remarkable with this one from Al Charles. Charles takes on The Gap Band’s superb classic disco track ‘Outstanding’ and gives it that swing, as is befitting any steamy, up close and personal dance session. Released in an era-appropriate label sleeve, the 12”’s dancefloor purpose is kept intact by an added ounce of bass.
