Spanish techno producers Jose Cabrera and Mario Castillo unite for their latest EP as No Spiritual Surrender. For their L.I.E.S. debut Yo Prefiero the pair deliver club cuts that are at once broken and linear, constantly morphing yet strangely choppy in their rhythms. There is a mutated futurism to something like ‘HB’ which nods to Basic Rhythm and Nikki Nair - though the track still maintains a bit of that classic L.I.E.S. scuzz. Really interesting stuff.
