Continuing their extensive rerelease project on Mute, formidable industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle revisit a time in which they rediscovered each other post-break-up. The reunion — or more rebirth — yielded transgressive works to equal, if not extrapolate upon, their early work, but there’s a sense that nothing could’ve come together quite so well were it not for A Souvenir Of Camber Sands. The recording documents a borderline miraculous live appearance at ATP’s Nightmare Before Christmas in Camber Sands, in which the power and grit of prior performances — London’s ICA, most notoriously — were recaptured.
