Important Records very much live up to their name with this reissue of Eliane Radigue’s 1971 work Chry-Ptus. In being the first piece Radigue composed for modular synthesiser, Chry-Ptus marks a crucial point in her musical development, setting Radigue off on a journey that would see her become one of the most distinguished drone/avant-garde electronics composers of the past half-Century. This new edition of Chry-Ptus presents recordings made in ‘71 at the New York Cultural Centre as well as two more recent performances of the piece.
