Debut release by Nodern on Sub Rosa, The album is divided up into two equal halves. The first section is devoted to shorter, song-like structures, From the aural assault of 'Nodern Loves You' [which features an obscenity that is then covered up in a pool of noise] to the sexy beats of 'Cool It', to the minimal break-beats of 'Lockerbroom Rumble'by way of an introduction. The second section is a lot more challenging. 'The Coal Mine Worker' is an adventure into ambient territory. Whispers are converted to amber soundscapes as an imaginary wind sweeps behind your ears. 'National Republic of Hairlip' explores the minimal and hushed pounding tambourine beat that is sampled for eternity.

The album ends on a quiet mode with 'Crutch Receiver', as a cave like water drop permeates the room.
