Open up today’s window of the Bleep 2019 Advent Calendar. What’s inside? A new cassette from Daphne & Celeste, that’s what. The pair’s ‘A.L.T.O.’ tune was a giddy highlight of their 2018 comeback LP Daphne & Celeste Save The World. Produced by Max Tundra, ‘A.L.T.O.’ is the sort of computer-age pop ditty which reminds you that modern-day stars like Charli XCX and Hannah Diamond owe quite a big debt to this duo. This special release of ‘A.L.T.O.’ sees it linked with a remix from David Shrigley (yes, that one) and Lee Baker, who manage to remove all traces of bubblegum glee from the track by turning it into a doom-metal slouch. Shrigley’s instantly-recognisable line-drawing style is used for the tape’s artwork, too.
