We find Bjarki in a mischievous way once more on his latest EP as Cucumb45. Slother EP1 Lyf og bið að heilsa is another of those bbbbbb Records drops that sounds like it was made by a mad scientist between lab sessions. This is maniacal and carnivalesque IDM that occasionally crosses over into hard, trance-indebted techno (see closer ‘Crying Indian And laser Horse’ on the latter count). Those of you who like your beats a little more broken will find plenty to sink your teeth into in the delirious midsection of Slother EP1 Lyf og bið að heilsa. Also, we’re not sure we’ve ever heard someone try to split the difference between dirty south and breakcore before, as Cucumb45 does on ‘Get Slothered 6even2’, so top marks for that one.
