Apparat’s LP5 spawns a quartet of remixes, collected here on the EP LP5_RMXS. Radio Slave, Substance (DJ Pete), Stimming and Solomun are the artists tasked with reworking Sascha Ring’s originals. All bar one of the entries here maintain the organic warmth of Apparat’s originals, spinning them out into harmonious tech-house or broken-beat techno. The outlier is Stimming’s ‘Brandenburg’ flip, a brooding malfunction of humming bass and squeaking drums. It reminds us of Clark.
