Minimal techno and minimal dubstep find common ground! The original 'Blood On My Hands' was a big hit outside the dubstep fraternity which isn't surprising as it's a great record. Favourite Ricardo Villalobos was clearly into it too as he's got his hands on the parts and remixed it free of charge. The results are astounding, hypnotic, beautiful and odd. On first appearance this is a very minimal track but Villalobos' compositional skills and his ability to create something totally alien yet emotionally absorbing contrasts well with the originals' heart wrenching mood. It's a great record that's detailed enough for a home listening session and also incredibly physically effective when played out loud. A very worthwhile crossover.
