An Explore, out on the anything-goes label Lewis Recordings, sees musical busy bodies Rob Macdonald — DJ and and co-founder of London’s legendary hip-hop club Scratch — and Lucy Wilkins — touring and recording violinist who’s worked alongside the likes of Roxy Music, Massive Attack and Radiohead — strike a delicate balance between hot improvisation and low-glow warmth with looped piano and guitar textures accompanied by violin and ephemeral vocals.
