Often the contributions are vocals, and the hazy invocations of singers like Toby Ernest help to usher Nothing Gold Can Stay’s first three numbers into a world of beautiful Balearia - first woozy, as it is on opener ‘Water’, then urgent and discofied by the time ‘Du Du Du’ rolls around. This feeling is then pulled apart on the record’s closing title-track, whose cinematic electronics bring Apparat to mind.
