Planet Discoveries is one of those records that makes good on the promise of its title. This two-pronged attack, containing the track ‘Planet Discovery’ by Russ Gabriel and a remix of the same number from Future Beat Alliance, is the sort of bubbling electro that you make first contact to. Gabriel’s number is a questing delight, with synths and keys blooming across a seven-minute run-time while a steady drum pulse holds everything in place - the most stargazing sections of Space Dimension Controller’s discography come to mind. Future Beat Alliance give ‘Planet Discovery’ more muscle, slowing the track down slightly and plumbing it full of fizzing synth lines.
