German duo Cass. & Gianni Brezzo turn in a lovely, painterly set of bedroom-taping vignettes in the form of the Masala Kiss LP. Tracks such as ‘Instabubu’ and ‘Umberelaa’ are Balearic synth-soul jams of woozy beauty. Elsewhere on the record we get a few entries like ‘Oco Koli’, a tune which comes close to that fourth-world/new age nexus. If you’ve enjoyed some of Music From Memory’s recent releases, particularly their recent Orquesta De Las Nubes collection, then Masala Kiss is very much worth your time.
