Fledgling label Taste Records drop an EP of evocative tech-house from Rick Nizzy. We Are Not Made Of Sugar is full of burbling analog synths, crisp 808 grooves and chugging basslines. There are also some pleasantly unusual sonic choices here - for instance, the spools of guitar that open up the EP remind us of The Durutti Column before things snap into a low-slung groove. Metropolitan Soul Museum’s remix of We Are Not Made Of Sugar’s title-track brings lusher harmonies into play while maintaining the spirit of the other cuts here.
