It’s Paris, 2018, and a young woman approaches French imprint Antinote following a Dominique Dumont show, demo in tow. Based on the strength of her avant-garde tinged house workouts, Moscow native Olga — aka OMMA — went from bold chancer to debuting on the label with 1905. Full of a wondrous delight at the everyday (sung in Russian), and fuelled by the kind of exploratory vigour of someone approaching synths and samplers for the first time, there’s something distinctly Ela Orleans about 1905.
