Bot1500 returns to Analogical Force with another set of acidic IDM tools. The Matrix EP contains a fair few breakbeat tunes which hare off at breakneck speed - ‘505-10’ and ‘Route 53’ for instance. These tracks show the influence of genre luminaries like Squarepusher, though they aren’t quite as manic as his productions. There are also moments such as ‘Spring Track 2’ and ‘13th’ where Bot1500 slows things down. This trick which brings out the melodiousness of his synth work very nicely, the warm pads bouncing off dinky synth motifs to lovely effect. All in all Matrix is another impressive release from an up-and-coming producer making a name for himself.
