Kirk Degiorgio fans, rejoice! For the producer has delivered his first LP under the name of As One in well over a decade. Communion is a typically lush and welcoming set of deep-/ambient-house from Degiorgio. The tracks here all crest on warm synth pads, bubbling programmed drums and those sort of basslines that never go out of fashion. As the likes of Daniel Avery, Dream Cycle and Lone make music that explicitly references Degiorgio’s halcyon heyday, it’s good that one of the scene originals is still kicking about and able to guide the young guns on their way.
