The second volume of retina.IT’s deep cuts/unreleased series The Last Days Of Pompeii is another set of detailed IDM compositions from the duo of Nicola Buono and Lino Monaco. Despite only running to four tracks there is plenty of stylistic variation here - the curious chirruping synths of ‘Fakaldo’ nod to Thomas Fehlmann while closer ‘Fafreddo’, the liveliest cut across both parts of The Last Days Of Pompeii, is made up of broken beats at once busy and delicate.
