You’re probably reading this on a laptop or a smartphone right now; DJ Shadow would like some words with you. The legendary turntable don goes for the jugular with Our Pathetic Age, taking pot shots at social media, technological manipulation and the overall banality of evil. What’s more, Shadow’s synth-n-sample-based belligerence is spread across a hefty 26 tracks (across two discs in vinyl format), splitting the tunes into two distinct camps. Half one delivers on his classic sound with added venom, while the second features marvellous guest spots by the likes of Run the Jewels, Nas and Pusha T.
