Aussie neo-soul group 30/70 return to Rhythm Section International with their third LP. Fluid Motion is released in the wake of 30/70 building stronger ties to London - three of the band featured on Browswood’s recent Sunny Side Up compilation, Bradley Zero’s label has now hosted several of their records, and the group refer to the city as their second home. As such, it’s no surprise that the sound of LDN’s burgeoning modern jazz group has an even stronger presence in 30/70 this time around. Think Ezra Collective and Zara McFarlane. Sporting a giant melting pot of jazz-adjacent sounds, like the genre’s vast history played out all at once. From the urban swagger of ‘Brunswick Hustle’ to the quiet fushion dirge of ’N.Y.P.’, through the buzzing percussive grooves of ‘True Love’ and ‘Push and Pull’. Fluid Motion is nothing short of visionary.
