Montreal's Mike Shannon drops a killer new EP that's one of the tightest and most efficient records we've heard in ages. With a minimal sound pallette Shannon works the sounds to maximum effect building stunning shapes and gestures from a pool of granular clanks, bleeps, scrapes and irrepressible riffs. The Hi-Hat work is outstanding, at times the tracks sound a bit garagey with some 2step rhythms working their magic in an akufen style.
