Castel’s Estrel EP came surrounded by hype when it was first released in 1998 - after all, Castel had won a competition in order to get the chance to release this thing. Now, more than two decades on from its initial CD appearance, Estrel is being given a vinyl pressing courtesy of Echovolt. Estrel is a set of chirpy, twittering IDM that runs at house and techno tempo - indeed, on cuts like ‘Safer Somewhere’ and ‘Latch’ Castel steers close to four-to-the-floor grooves before pulling away into broken beats once again.
