Up until now Chrisopher Rau has largely made his name by releasing evocative deep-house joints on labels like Smallville and Office Recordings. However, new two-tracker Beasts represents an exciting change of pace from Rau. These are two of his hardest, most challenging productions to date - particularly the title-track, an atonal bleep odyssey in the Pan Sonic mould. On the flip ‘Riggleysz’ comes across like one of Rau’s more melodious productions on steroids.
