Like a supergroup of techno and jazz musicians, Conjoint's first album (which you get here for free) consisted of four players, David Moufang (aka Move D, Sometime Warp artist) Jamie Hodge (also known as born under a rhyming planet) and Ornette Coleman/George Clinton Vibes player Karl Berger aND Jazz guitarist Ruit Kraus. The album was favorably compared to such milestones of contemporary music as Miles Davis' 'In a silent Way' and is seen as a missing cornerstone in the development of electronic music as it reached into new territory.
A few empty chairs, the groups latest album sees them coming together with all their own personal developments at the core of what they do. Building from a 60's, early 70's jazz template they then move into explorative territory through electronics, without getting stuck in an improv hole. Quality stuff indeed, and well worthit just for the free copy of Conjoint's first album.
