Orlando Voorn’s Twisted EP for Open Source delivers us three versions of its title-track. Voorn’s original is an acidic big-room techno full of eerie, trippy sounds and whizz-bang synth flourishes. Maxx Rossi’s remix doesn’t stray too far from Voorn’s blueprint, tidying up the atmospherics but keeping the 303 and slamming kick drum. Open Source boss Pat Hurley is a little more obtuse on his ‘Twisted’ flip - there’s less melody in the bass - but still packs a dancefloor punch.
