Digitalis whip up a new pressing of the 2008 debut album from Imaginary Softwoods. Imaginary Softwoods is the moniker used by Emeralds member John Elliott, and there’s definitely crossover between that band’s hypnagogic synth-pop style and the Imaginary Softwoods LP. However, this record is also more abstract and whimsical, following its nose down the sort of sonic back alleys one often finds Jefre Cantu-Ledesma wandering in. There’s also a little Forest Swords (without the drums) to the eerie drone of tracks like ‘Court Of Failure (Part II)’.
