French breakcore veteran Ruby My Dear returns with the Altaïr EP. This is a set of sparking and sometimes disorientating productions of the sort that we’ve come to expect from Ruby My Dear down the years. Tracks like ‘B2’ also have that air of carnivalesque gothicism to them that Ruby My Dear has long brought to the table. It’s not all frenetic breakbeats here, mind - the EP opens with a sort of broiling and abstract soundscape that sounds like something from the darkest corners of UVB-76 Records that has been stripped of its drums.
