Blowback is a set of ultra-futurist experiments in electro from Glasgow’s Galaxian. Tracks such as ‘Forget About It’ and ‘Tunnel Vision’ wriggle and squirm in a way that makes you unsure whether to dance or stand back and admire them. It’s sort of like an alien trying to recreate Venetian Snares … or maybe Autechre … Other moments on Blowback - ‘Parasitic Seduction’, for instance - see the grooves done away with and the focus shifted to the unclassifiable cyborg squeals of Galaxian’s synths.
