Excellent new album from Janek Schaefer, that was originally used for an experimental dance show where the dancers were suspended on bungee ropes, often dancing above the crowd. The music is inspired by the paths of migrating birds, edited down from field recordings made from a sequence of countries and continents, creating a full piece that starts off slowly and etherally, drifting into held chords and radio waves then deep into the Amazon Rainforest. The second half, sequences glitter and sounds circle overhead. Dense organ drones from Lourdes cathedral land as embers fly into the sky revealing hovering melodies. The tension unfolds into a progressivley intense climax. This is one of Janek's most engaging and accessible albums and a real pleasure.
