As if U.F.O.F hadn’t trawled the skies enough for far-off constellations beyond mere indie folk, Big Thief drop out of the heavens with its “earth twin” Two Hands. More grounded and rawer than its celestial counterpart, the quartet’s fourth LP — and their second 2019 release — yet delivers on songwriter Adrianne Lenker’s uncanny ability to render the everyday uncannily alien, imbuing washed out reality with hyperreal colours and impossible shades.
