Unsurprisingly given its title, Ricardo Donoso’s Re_Calibrate is a companion piece to his 2018 LP Calibrate. Calibrate’s spirit of invention is carried over here, with Re_Calibrate again serving up some dense and often rather brutalised IDM cuts. Tracks generally contain several distinct sections rather than structures which have us return to previous ideas - for instance, ‘A Hostage Of The Past’ passes through passages that reference everything from The Haxan Cloak to Arvo Pärt to Oneohtrix Point Never.
