During Wire’s hiatus throughout the first half of the 1980s group members Graham Lewis and Bruce Gilbert made a series of records under the name Dome. They took the post-punk sound in a different direction to the Pink Flag project, instead focusing on more outre, industrial and avant-garde techniques which used the studio as the primary instrument. As such Dome’s 1981 LP 3 fits in nicely with what the likes of Throbbing Gristle and David Byrne & Brian Eno were doing at around the same time. 3 has been remastered and reissued at the behest of Editions Mego.
