Philou Louzolo kicks off his own Afrofuturist and sci-fi speciality label Wokoundou with its first release. The aptly titled LP Shinobi Of Wokoundou takes musical forms and traditions native to North and West Africa — chanting choruses, entrancing circular drums — and sends them to deep into acid-soaked galaxies of techno heraldry. His vision is also cross-continental, rendering European electronic music and Japanese anime soundtracks into a truly global sound.
