Released via his own Brunette Editions imprint, John Roberts’ fifth LP Can Thought Exist Without The Body is a set of wistfully beautiful voyages into ambient and drone. If you can imagine a Teebs record with the beats stripped out you might get close to the sound of Can Thought Exist Without The Body. Tracks such as ‘Mental Model No. 2’ get you right in the cerebral cortex, lifting you up into the clouds with their meandering pianos and pillowy soundscapes.
