Always good to see a new release coming out of the LAVALAVA camp. The label’s latest drop is Diamonds, a set of anarchic hip-hop and industrial soundsystem mutations forged from the union of Togolese vocalist Yao Bobby and Zurich’s Simon Grab. Bobby commands the vocal booth with his charismatic and portentous vocals - not easy when Grab’s beats sound like they are collapsing all around you.
